Within the Pre-School room we have 16 places where our aim is to provide a rich learning environment which offers the opportunity for children to explore a variety of activities based upon the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Sessions can be either full, part time or fully funded. (See funding section)As in all areas of the setting key workers closely work alongside the children modelling activities, offering support and encouragement. Practitioners continually strive to plan stimulating and challenging activities to ensure the continual development of each child.
Practitioners within Pre-School are developing more outdoor opportunities based around Forest School training where we will have our own mud kitchen, and with the children, will develop activities which involve learning within the environment and using natural resources such as leaves, twigs, mud paintings and petal perfumes.
Spanish classes are available to the children on a weekly basis, which is run by Catherine an Early Years Teacher ‘Buena Boogie’. The sessions are teaching the children in a fun way through songs, puppets and dance to grasp the basics in developing the skill of the language. This links into the language curriculum of the local primary schools.
